Business Start-Ups

If you are thinking about setting up your own business, a good place to start is by talking to. When you start to trade there are certain areas that you should consider:

  • Business names and trading styles – sole trade/Limited
  • Notifying (HMRC)
  • Registering for VAT
  • PAYE and National Insurance
  • Taking on employees
  • Maintaining accurate books and records
  • Advice regarding setting up company bank accounts

We’ll use our experience in working with a wide range of businesses to take an independent, expert view of your plans and give you practical, professional advice on the concept for your enterprise.

We’ll challenge your proposals in a constructive way and develop solutions to any potential problems, to help you refine your plans and give your business a better chance of success.

We’ll also advise you on the best structure for your business – sole trader, partnership, limited liability partnership or limited company – and help you with all the paperwork necessary to keep you compliant with regulatory requirements.

To make your life easier, we offer a range of services – including bookkeeping, company secretarial, management and annual accounts, payroll and tax – designed to ease your administrative burden and give you the time that you need to get your business off the ground, as well as providing the vital information necessary for decision-making

And once you are up and running, we’ll be there to support you as you take the next steps in growing your business.

What is a Self Assessment?

Self Assessment is a system HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) uses to collect Income Tax.

If you have income that isn’t taxed through a pay-as-you-earn (PAYE) scheme, you’ll probably need to submit a personal tax return. If you’re self employed or a sole trader and your turnover was more than £1,000 or you’re in a business partnership, you must complete a return.

What we will do for you

  • We will claim ALL allowances, relief and expenses that you are rightfully entitled to
  • We will calculate your Tax Liability
  • We will file your Personal Tax return directly with HMRC
  • We check your return to reduce the risk of a HMRC enquiry
  • We will prepare your tax return efficiently and accurately
  • We will discuss the tax that is payable including due dates
  • We will provide unlimited support – throughout the year
